Kevin Bacon’s teen angst came to the fore in this cult classic. Until now, few had ever thought you could get so angry you’d want to dance! But, it clearly worked and he exits that steel mill feeling like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders! 

Dirty Dancing – Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner

Probably most peoples’ favourite dance scene of all-time. Often mimicked, never bettered, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray leapt into the film history books and left us in no doubt that “Nobody puts Baby in the corner!” 

Napoleon Dynamite – Vote For Pedro

If you’ve ever been the underdog, you’ll love this scene from the strangely hypnotic Napoleon Dynamite. It just goes to show that you can be so terribly bad at dancing that you’re actually quite good. This boogie is for real! 

Little Miss Sunshine – Super Freak

Just when it appears as if nothing can bring Little Olive’s dysfunctional family together she busts out a “Super Freak” routine that destroys the competition at a local talent contest. They may have their differences, but they’ll always agree that when Rick James is on, it’s time to get down.

Let Them Eat Cake

For more than 30 years, 9 women have been getting together at 4am each morning with one goal; to brighten someone’s day through baking. They were so secretive that not even there their husbands knew about it!

Affectionately known as the 9 Nanas, these women from West Tennessee, not far from Graceland, have been baking pound cakes and sending them to people in need for more than three decades.

It all started when one of them, Mama Ruth, started baking and sending her special pound cakes to people who had recently lost a loved one. She’d simply read the obituaries in the local newspaper and then start baking.

But, once the cat was out of the bag, their children suggested that they start selling the pound cakes online. And, before they knew it, they were getting orders for more than one hundred a day!

And, true to their original intentions, they use the proceeds to support their local community. In fact, over the past 35 years the 9 Nana’s have donated more than $900 000 to local community projects.

Recently they donated more than $5,000 of pillows, linen and personal care products to a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. And this August, they’ll celebrate their second consecutive “Happiness Happens Month” by sending tokens of their appreciation to one person in every state who has made a difference in their own community.
